so the cat may very well have cancer. would explain why he throws up nearly everything he eats, even the stuff that doesn't aggravate his stomach. we're feeding him pureed wet cat food and he scarfs that down like the starving cat that he is. but we have to control his portions and how often he eats else he throws it back up. there is a debate whether to let him continue like this or to send him off to sleep; which is the better quality of life? i haven't grown attached to the cat like my mom has. he snuggles up to her every night like a cat she had as a girl. this poor cat though is skin and bones and likely won't be putting on any more weight. my view though, changes with each day. some days socks is really lethargic while other days he's not. when he is lethargic is when i seriously think about letting him sleep. but mom thinks the QOL is still there for him and he's not super suffering. in the end, it is her call. she has stated that dad is to get her another lovable cuddle cat when socks is gone though. dad reaction was pretty much 'meh'.
